The Art School at Old Church was founded in 1974 when artists transformed a neglected 19th-century church building into a community center for art and culture. Today, the school and adjoining Mikhail Zakin Gallery annually serve over 5,000 participants of all ages.

On Saturday, April 26, works of art and craft by community members will be available for purchase at the Demarest Train Station from 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM while plein air painters create at their easels. On Sunday, April 27 there will be a lawn sale of pottery by students and faculty at 561 Piermont Road. "In Hand II," a juried exhibition of ceramic cups by 73 contemporary artists, will be on view in Mikhail Zakin Gallery throughout the month of April.
