Lackawanna Arts Initiative at the historic Lackawanna Station in Montclair is open to the public seven days a week. This re-imagined space has become become a major destination for art lovers, creators, and the community at large. The Lackawanna Arts Initiative has transforming a once-abandoned shopping center into a thriving community hub dedicated to the arts, culture, and small business incubation. At its core is an ambitious and expansive arts program that features murals and installations from some of the most renowned street, pop, and graffiti artists in the world, including Jerkface, Jeks One, BKFoxx, CPWon, D*Face, Insane51, Yok & Sheryo, Steve ESPO Powers, Michael Reeder, Lauren YS, Max Sansing, Shaun Killman, Nover, Stu, Charlie Doves, Ques718, and Acro Bamc Crew. These internationally recognized artists bring vibrant, large-scale murals and installations that turn the station into a walk-able, ever-evolving canvas.
In addition, the initiative puts a strong emphasis on local artists and creative practitioners, with work from Luke Waldrum, Marguerite Kaufer, Chris Reyes, Jay Emaich, Jenny Flexner Reinhardt, and Artist-in-Residence Charlie Spademan.
Lackawanna has partnered with Studio Montclair, inviting regional talent to exhibit, collaborate, and contribute to this growing arts movement.
There are artworks on display in The Rec Room by Jenny Flexner Reinhardt and Charlie Spademan.
Keep Creating, an art wellness center, will have a showing of works by a local artist as well as work from their students.
There are also large sculptural works within Lackawanna on a rotating basis.
Lackawanna Station will be open at all times.
Charlie Spademan will open his studio Friday-Sunday, Noon to 6pm. His studio is located at the rear of the Big Room.
Rec Room will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday Noon to 6pm.
Keep Creating will be open Friday-Sunday, Noon to 6pm
Both of these are located near the entrance of the building.
