The Art Pod

Monmouth County
43 West Front Street, Red Bank, NJ
The Art Pod is a creative workspace and exhibition venue for New Jersey artists, located in the heart of vibrant Red Bank, NJ. Surrounded by a thriving arts community, the Art Pod has become a hub for innovative events. Artists Ellen Martin, Mona Pollard, and Colin Goodall have collaborated to organize and host a series of successful Open Houses and Pop-Ups.
Ellen Martin is an independent curator and artist, recognized for her ongoing contributions to New Jersey's arts community. She has dedicated herself to promoting the work of local visual artists through the Jersey Artist Registry, a website she founded to showcase exceptional talent from the region.
For the past nine years, Ellen has served as Curator and Director of Art Programming at The Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, where she continues to shape and elevate the hotel’s artistic offerings. In addition, she is currently curating a new exhibit at The Branchport Galleries, located within The Long Branch Arts and Cultural Center.
During this weekend’s event, Ellen Martin will debut a collection of new small acrylic paintings. She will also show botanical photographs created with her collaborator, Kevin Hinkle, highlighting her commitment to both solo and collaborative artistic endeavors.
Mona Pollard is a visual artist whose practice centers on painting and drawing. Her passion for life drawing led to the creation of “Intimates”, a series of small works that invite close viewing. Her latest body of work, “Throwaways”—mixed-media pieces on cardboard—explores abstraction while retaining a strong connection to the human form. Mona’s work has been exhibited at the Art Alliance, Galerie Lucida, and Oyster Point Walls. She holds a BFA in Painting from Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts and an MA in Graphics from NYU. She teaches graphic design at Brookdale Community College.
Colin Goodall is a mathematical artist with a background in academia and at AT&T (Bell) Labs. His work has been shown in numerous gallery exhibitions and is held in collections both in the U.S. and internationally. For this Art Expo, Colin will present an updated version of his wall chess installation, featuring historic games from the 1930s, alongside a selection of his digital artwork.
The exhibition will also showcase a unique set of chair designs created in collaboration by Colin Goodall, John Rubbo, and Frank Toth. Ever wondered how comfortable Gerrit Rietveld’s iconic 1920 Red and Blue Chair really is? Now’s your chance to find out—try it yourself.
The Art Pod is located on the first floor and is fully accessible.
