Art Pod
43 W Front St Suite 8, Red Bank
The Art Pod is a working and exhibition space for New Jersey artists. It is in the middle of vibrant Red Bank, NJ where we are surrounded by other artists and art spaces.
Ellen Martin is currently continuing with her iPhone photography series while resuming her painting career. Her collaborative work with another photographer, Kevin Hinkle, has been shown recently at Gallery Jupiter in Little Silver, NJ; The Art Alliance of Monmouth County; and ChaShaMa Matawan. It will be shown in the Art Pod over the weekend along with her award-winning "Abandoned" photography and recently-finished paintings.
Mona Pollard is the newest member of the Art Pod. She studied Graphic Design at NYU and obtained a BFA in Painting at Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts. Mona taught graphic design at Brookdale College for 11 years. She is primarily concerned with representation of the female figure through painting and photography.
Colin Goodall is a geometric artist, with a colorful approach. A mathematics graduate of Cambridge University in the UK, and a former professor at Princeton University, he worked at AT&T (Bell) Labs for 20 years before leaving to pursue art full time. Colin Goodall’s murals are at AT&T, in England and Wales, and newest of all, the awning at Red Bank’s Oyster Point Hotel. His recent art shows include Artisan’s Collective in Red Bank, Gallery 413 in Crisfield MD, Atlantic Highlands Arts Council, and Axelrod Gallery in Deal. His pieces are in collections in Washington DC, in NJ, and in the UK.
For this Art Expo, Colin will highlight his collaborations, notably with John Rubbo, a 3D geometric wood worker, and with Mike Quon, Elisete Onuki of Sao Paulo Brasil, and Rashan Lane of Crisfield. Wishing to acknowledge other artists in the Art Pod, on display are works with geometric allusions by (mostly) NJ artists, including Mary Ann McKay, Ericka Bruno, Maurizio Molin, Carla Valentino, and Meryl Blinder.
The Art Pod also includes a reference library of books on art and related topics.
For the Arts Weekend, there will be refreshments, including hot tea, while supplies last!
The Art Pod is on the first floor and easily accessible, with a 3 inch step to the outside pavement. However, while the interior doors and passageways meet a 32 inch minimum, the doors to the outside have a clear width of just 28 inches.
