Begin your Garden State Art Weekend adventure in Monmouth County by visiting AHA Gallery, home to the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council whose mission is to strengthen community through the arts. The gallery hosts several art exhibitions throughout the year, as well as workshops, lectures and concerts. Their popular gallery windows are always filled with local art.

While in Red Bank, visit Art Alliance of Monmouth County, where you can see the 37th Annual Juried Exhibition curated by Kelly Long, Senior Curatorial Assistant at The Whitney Museum of Art, will be on view from April 6 to April 30.

Visit the newest gallery and project space, located in the heart of Red Bank, Monmouth Arts' community space and gallery features art programs, exhibitions of member artists, and community events. On display in April and May, Connor Kane's solo photography exhibit, "Waves & Riffs: Surf & Soundscape of Asbury Park," vividly captures the beauty of the shore and the essence of life in Asbury Park and surrounding areas. His work, a harmonious blend of fine art and photography, radiates the charm and vibrant energy of the coast.


Squatter Potters

End the evening with a visit to Squatter Potters, which has various artists working in a collective studio, offering hand-building, wheel-throwing, and hands-on clay experiences. They will also be showcasing some of their artists' finished works.

ChaShaMa Matawan brings innovative, cutting edge art exhibitions that express the hope that is generated from arts-based healing, encouraging new growth in the local arts community in Matawan, NJ, located 20 minutes from Sandy Hook, less than an hour from Philly, 30 minutes from Asbury Park,


Swing by the opening night celebration, “Divine Reflections”, an exhibition showcasing the profound works of Justin DeMattico, deeply rooted in Christian faith and imbued with a rich tapestry of themes including individual development, judgment, and the quest for acceptance. Through an array of mediums including portraiture, paintings, drawings from sketchbooks, and mesmerizing 3-D printed animal-totem sculptures, the artist delves into the intricacies of the human experience.


They will also be hosting open studios all 3 days from 2-5pm. 


ArtHive

46 English Plaza suite 6, Red Bank, NJ 07701

Drop by the open studios at ArtHive, four artists with four different styles working in separate studios. They can be found in Suite 6 on the second floor ( walk up) of the rear building at 46 English Plaza in Red Bank, off of West Front Street (opposite Riverside Park). You will be greeted in the common kitchen where refreshments are available as you tour the studios. Street parking is available and also in the adjacent English Plaza and White Street lots.


WHITEPOINT

A must-see in Asbury Park, WHITEPOINT Gallery, founded in 2013 by Tom & Lois White, features contemporary art with a focus on larger scale works. Genres include, abstract expressionism, conceptual, hyperrealistic, contemporary coastal, and urban art.

 

The currently featured solo exhibition is resident artist Tom White’s alternative hybrid process involving the disciplines of painting, sculpting, photography, digital imaging, design, science and technology - using both analog and digital media.





Parlor Gallery

An arts institution in Asbury Park, Parlor Gallery opened in 2009 in Asbury Park, NJ. They present a unique vision in New Jersey’s art community and feature innovative work by some of the best emerging and established artists. We curate exhibits the public may not ordinarily have access to outside of a large urban environment within a welcoming, creative, and inspirational space. 

 

The current exhibition, "No.15"; 15 Years of Parlor Gallery, An Anniversary Group Exhibition celebrating their 15th Year as a favorite local Art Gallery and space for creative expression and exploration. In honor of their Anniversary, the Gallery is featuring a carefully curated selection of 15 gallery mainstays, as well as artists that haven’t exhibited with them in many years and a few new members of their “Art Tribe”.

Artist-run, Art629 is a gallery dedicated to the exhibition of fine contemporary art. Their objective is to give all artists a voice. They believe in the power of art to connect people and strive to bring new perspectives to the region. They also provide a space for artists to create and explore their passion through painting and drawing classes. During April they will be showcasing a group exhibition “Floral Muse”, portraying different media by multiple artists from New Jersey.

Jersey Shore Arts Center

Located a hop, skip and a jump away from Asbury Park, The Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) presents its 3rd annual Open Studios Day. Resident artists will open their studios for the public to see their work and where they work. JSAC ( a.k.a. The Old Neptune High School) is home to over 27 artists studios, performance events, classes, music, improv, dance, and two theaters.



Middletown Arts Center

Join in on this fun art activity with The Garden State Watercolor Society (GSWS) where they will  host a fun opportunity for artists and art lovers of all ages to create their own postcards at the Middletown Arts Center (MAC). This event is inspired by the GSWS 6th Annual Art Installation of hand-painted postcards inspired by the Past, Present and Future entitled “Wish you were here!”
